Finally! Something I have always wanted to do!

With the current coronavirus pandemic taking its toll on everyone, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to utilise my time efficiently by engaging in my passion for cooking. Without the same time constraints that I would usually encounter, I have been inspired to get more creative in the kitchen again and finally start Min’s Menu. It has been something that I have always wanted to do and I am very excited to be able to share my love for cooking with everyone.

I love food and I love to eat! So, cooking delicious meals that my family and I can enjoy has always been rewarding and something I hold great enthusiasm for.

Since the beginning of lockdown, with us all being faced with unfamiliar circumstances, I have noticed that cooking meals from scratch has become increasingly prevalent in many households. Whilst I have always had a passion for this, I am hoping to inspire many others with my blog, to continue home-cooking their meals even after the pandemic has subsided.

Home-cooking is a much healthier and flexible way of eating. It allows me to have better control of how I construct my dishes whilst ensuring that I always provide wholesome, tasty meals for my children. For me, the aroma of home-cooked food provides a comforting feeling and reminds me of family and togetherness.

I truly value taking cooking inspiration from others and I thrive on experimenting with new spices and flavours, tailoring a recipe to become my own. I believe that if I cannot directly share the food I make, then I can at least share the recipe, to allow others the enjoyment of eating it too. It’s always gratifying to see my family and friends recreate and appreciate the food I make and I am now extremely thrilled to start sharing my culinary creations with you all.

Happy cooking!

  • I cannot wait to try these recipes for myself as I have sampled Mina’s cooking and it is truly wonderful. She is the most honest, caring person and this is evident in her recipes. Good honest home- cooking which we should all inspire to do for our families too. What an amazing story- how inspirational. X

  • Mina’s food is, to us, equivalent to love, health, unconditional positivity and kindness. These are ingredients that add to her real talent in the kitchen. Enjoy the recipes, they come from a pure, warm heart!

  • Thanks Mina for sharing such lovely and delicious recipes, they all look so good, I can’t wait to get stuck in.

I have also shown the kids your site and now the requests are endless LOL.

Well done for following your passion and sharing this with us all.

      • I made the spinach patra for lunch yesterday, thank you so much, you have changed patra making from being a days event to less than one hour, amazing.

The kids had 3 helpings each, went down so well. Thank you. Next is the panner Kema can’t wait. 😁

  • I made your Dhebra and your Dhokra at the weekend and they were awesome. – and a big hit with the family.
I have a love hate relationship with Dhebra – I love them but they never come out tasty and I always vow never to make them again, but with your easy to follow recipe they will be made again and again.
I also make Dhokra but the long way, in whereby I soak the ingredients overnight but your recipe was quick and instant and very tasty for an impromptu snacks idea.
Your recipes are also good for me to show Jenna how to cook homemade Indian Gujrati food. When I’m cooking I find it difficult to explain to her how much is needed, we’ve always been taught to cook asre (a little bit of this and a little bit of that)
    Looking forward to more recipes.
    Thank you!

    • Thank you Shobhana for your brilliant feedback. I am so pleased to hear that you loved both the dhebra and dhokra recipes. The recipes are proving useful for quite a few students at university, including both my daughters. It was part of the reason why I started the recipes blog. I hope I can inspire more people to cook their own meals from scratch.
      Thanks again!
